Aromatherapy

Citrus blossum, evening primrose, sweet acacia. Evening breezes waft intoxicating scents in the desert air. When I walk out into my backyard garden, I feel a peculiar calm, almost narcotic, from the blissful aroma of Valencia orange blossoms blooming next to my patio. On an evening run, the bittersweet odor of phacelia lifts my spirits and my step. A pinch of wild lavender, and a swig of creosote leaf cure any doldrums of the day. I breathe deep and let the plant medicine brighten my spirit.

What aromatherapy does your natural environment offer?

I think the green earthy smell of Brittlebush smells like summer to me and the sweet scent of the Brittlebush blossoms smell like spring.

When I am working in the garden, the smell of soil brings back memories of driving tractor. When I mix in manure, then I am reminded of growing up on a farm. These are good memories, because being outside was my favorite time on the farm.

All good. All good. What about the smell of a baby's skin? Heaven.
